Excellence is obtained by having a proper perspective on the goals of life. However, gaining that view can be bombarded with the challenges and struggles of life. So, in the mist of the mess, we must stop and refocus on our purpose and progress. Work to gain a clear perspective on your goals through your circumstances. Don't compromise your standards to get out of struggles. As you gain clarity stay calm, tweak the plan and be willing to work hard for improvement to your goal. Your success is found in diligently moving forward with a clear perspective.

I heard of a true story of an over populated area of elephants in the South African Kruger National Park. To remedy the problem it was decided to relocate some of the elephants to another African reserve. During the move it was discovered that transporting the females and youth were easier to move than the large bulls. So to expedite the project the they were only moved. After a few years the juvenile males started to kill and wreak havoc with the other animals in the park. After much research, it was proposed that the problem could be the absents of the mature bulls. They flew in the bulls hoping they would be role models to counteract the bizarre and violent behavior. In a short time the younger males started following the examples of the older males, ending the chaos. Fathers, just like the juvenile elephants, our youth follow and learn how to live from us. Let's be mature by showing and guiding them to be people of good character. Our future is destined on how well we inspire the next generation. Someone once said, "The biggest risk in life is to risk nothing at all." Taking a chance is a scary thing especially when a lot is resting on the outcome. But staying in the comfort area of compliancy will not get you any closer to achieving your goal. What risks are you preparing to carry out in your life? Jim Rohn said it this way, " If you are not willing to risk the usual you will have to settle for the ordinary." Don't get caught in the same rut of no change, day in and out. Take the risk and change what you are doing. Capture every opportunity by learning from past and executing what you know in the present. Acting on calculated risk is a must to achieving a new level of success. If you are like me it's easy to overlook the issues that I hate. I rather not deal with the hurt, pain and stress of trying to work through the difficulties. But that road does not lead to success. Robert Tew says it this way, "What you deny or ignore, you delay. What you accept and face, you conquer." When we are sick in our bodies we might try to ignore the first signs of illness. But there comes a time when we can no longer fight the truth. There's a war within that needs conquering with some meds. The same is true with unaddressed issues in our lives. As long as we ignore them, they continue to reek havoc in all areas of our lives. Let's take our medicine by accepting and facing our issues. It won't taste good going down but we know it's for the best. It might take time to work but we can have confidence knowing that we are fighting back the chaos. Our success will come from the issues we refuse to ignore. |
