Over the last several years LifeVersation has studied and surveyed some of the rising problems in businesses today. It has found that the lack of well-developed ‘Soft Skills’ is the number one destroyer of productivity and effectiveness in businesses and teams.
'Soft Skills' are defined as character traits and interpersonal skills that characterize a person's relationships with other people. We at LifeVersation say that ‘Soft Skills’ are connected to "who people" are and what they will do under pressure, rather than what they know. For example, the ‘Soft Skills’ required for a doctor would be empathy, understanding, active listening and good bedside manners. Alternatively, the ‘Hard Skills’ necessary for a doctor would include a vast comprehension of illnesses, the ability to interpret test results and symptoms, and a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology.
